Demographics: Be not afraid... but.. Action Required.

Hi all,  here is a video on point for what we ended up talking about on Sunday in Open Door.  I had not planned it but I'm open to talking a lot more about this topic 1x1 or in small groups.  if you are interested....

I would reiterate my position that we have nothing to fear and that the way forward will always be tolerance, inclusion, and love demonstrated in our actions not just our words.  I don't know very much about Islam. I do know and testify to the love of Jesus Christ and I think that is where any discussion or action plan should start. We should follow a model of action which embodies the spirit and principles of that which we are professing.

This video is thought provoking, and very interesting to think about.  Let me know if you are interested in talking more.. AS for FEAR---  you should listen to what my friend Steven Condy says about it.. an amazing voice, and a beloved Christian heart and spirit. ---  FEAR NOT - http://ow.ly/2SbyF

I have thought about Sunday so much this week. It makes me sad that we are so afraid of anothers religion. Yes, there are extremists, but that is true for every faith, including ours. Would we want to be lumped into the same category as those "christians" who picket the funerals of service-members? Muslims are Americans too - they have the right to practice their religion with respect and with tolerance. I think if you actually talked to most Muslims you would find that they want the same things that we do. But when we as a society are so ugly, why do we expect tolerance from them? How would we feel if a Muslim group came to try and "convert" us. We as Christians need to realize that we are not the only religion in the worls, and know that we do not have to conquer all. What we do need to do is practice love, inclusion, acceptance and not worry so much about if we're going to come out on top. What is important is not "winning" but being the kind of people that God would be proud of.

How far are should we go in the name of Tolerance. Should we allow Sharia Law in America? Should we ignore the practices of Honor killings, stonings, etc. as part of practicing one's religion? Do we want to follow in Europe's footsteps in the name of Multiculturalism and ignore the trends that are taking place right now?
